Tips for new Guild Members

General Game Tips

  • If you open your Guild panel (just press the G key), you can see all kinds of information regarding the guild.

  • In your Guild panel, note the guild list to the left. Checking the small box next to a guild's name will allow you to "represent" (or "rep" for short) that guild, displaying the guild's tag after your character's name (like our shiny HOPE tag!) Be sure to ear our guild tag proudly and help spread the word of our awesomeness!

  • You can be in up to 5 guilds at once, but you can only represent one at a time on each character. And keep in mind that repping a guild on one character does automatically make your other characters rep.

  • You can visit Hope Rising's Guild Hall, the Gilded Hollow at any time, from almost anywhere. In your Guild panel, use the Guild Hall button in the top right corner to port to and from the Guild Hall freely. This can be very handy in many situations; the Guild Hall includes various merchants, a Tavern with free unlimited boosts, material synthesizers that can be farmed each day for crafting materials, and much much more! Be sure to explore it when you get the chance!

  • Be sure to find a General Merchant vendor and buy some Basic Salvage Kits. Use these to break down unneeded gear drops into crafting materials. You'll want these materials down the road, plus the mats are more valuable than the gear anyway!

Do Masteries make No Sense to you?

  • In order to unlock the whole Mastery system, you need 1. a level 80 character, and 2. to finish at least the first mission of Heart of Thorns ("Torn From the Sky") or Path of Fire ("Sparking the Flame").

  • Once the Mastery System has been unlocked (account-wide unlock), you need to open it in the Masteries tab of your Hero panel (the H key) and select a Mastery Track to begin training.

  • You must then fill the corresponding experience bar for the chosen Mastery by doing events and other things in any of the corresponding maps: Core Tyria (Red Mastery Points), includes the original game maps and all added maps up to the release of HoT; Heart of Thorns (Green Mastery Points) from HoT and Living World Season 3 maps; Path of Fire (Purple Mastery Points) from PoF and Living World Season 4 maps; Icebrood Saga (Blue Mastery Points) from Living World Season 5 (The Icebrood Saga) maps; and End of Dragons (Light Blue Mastery Points) from EoD maps.

  • Once the experience bar is full, you need to purchase the Mastery using Mastery Points of the corresponding color. These Mastery Points are found in various places and acquired in different ways.

  • Some are found in maps and require combat, others you simply commune with, and some are rewards from certain achievements (Any achievement or category of achievements that has potential Mastery Points to earn will show a Mastery Point symbol of the corresponding color next to it).
